S T U D I O E H T A - J E N N I N U O J U A

Ceramics based on the essence of EHTA, in Finnish meaning real, genuine and pure.

The flowing appearance and the tangible texture of the handmade ceramics is formed intuitively along the slow process of working with clay. Organic shapes with repetitive carved surface create the core characteristics of the unique ceramic reliefs, vases and sculptures.

About

Jenni Nuojua (b. 1983, Kajaani, Finland) is a Helsinki-based ceramic artist and architect (MSc). Having worked passionately with clay since 2018, Nuojua creates softly shaped ceramic pieces that explore the play of light on carved, contour-like surfaces. Her intuitive method of coiling and carving clay by hand is rooted in ancient traditions, guiding her towards an honest form of expression. Drawing inspiration from her roots in Northern landscapes, Nuojua observes the connection between humanity and nature, creating pieces that strive to embody the calming spirit of the natural world and portray humanity with empathy.
