S T U D I O E H T A - J E N N I N U O J U A

Ceramics based on the essence of EHTA, in Finnish meaning real, genuine and pure.

The flowing appearance and the tangible texture of the handmade ceramics is formed intuitively along the slow process of working with clay. Organic shapes with repetitive carved surface create the core characteristics of the unique ceramic reliefs, vases and sculptures.

About

Jenni Nuojua (b. 1983, Kajaani, Finland) is a ceramic artist and architect MSc based in Helsinki, Finland. She has worked passionately with clay since 2018. Nuojua creates softly shaped ceramic pieces and studies the play of light on the carved contour-like surface. Her intuitive method of coiling and carving clay by hand is based on the material and ancient tradition. This pushed the artist towards honest expression. Having roots in the northern landscapes, Nuojua observes the connection between human and nature, making pieces that strive to embody the calming spirit of nature while portraying something humane with empathy.
